Overview
SendGrid, part of Twilio, is one of the largest email platforms, with a transactional API, marketing campaigns and a long list of features for big senders.
Rimbra’s Email API is smaller and simpler: transactional email, templates, broadcasts and a delivery log, set up in minutes, sitting next to your app hosting, database, domain and WhatsApp API.

Which one to choose
Choose Rimbra when
- You want email set up in minutes, next to the app that sends it.
- You want one bill for hosting, email and WhatsApp.
SendGrid may fit better when
- You send millions of emails a month and need dedicated IPs and advanced marketing automation.
Moving from SendGrid to Rimbra
- 01

- 02

- 03
Recreate your templates in Rimbra and send them by ID with the values you already pass.
Questions
Is Rimbra a SendGrid alternative?
For transactional email, templates and broadcasts from your own domain, yes. Very large senders that need dedicated IPs may still prefer SendGrid.
